A Mercenary's Fate

by Siren

/
  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

"A Mercenary's Fate" is the second, full-length studio album from US heavy metal band, Siren., since their unexpected reunion in 2018 to perform at a prestigious festival in Germany. Their journey to regroup and perform was captured in the documentary film "I'm Too Old for This Sh*t! A Heavy Metal Fairy Tale" produced by Chris Jericho.

This new album features a total eleven new songs in the melodic, traditional heavy metal style that the band has honed since first forming in 1981. The title track of the album pays homage to their debut 7" single, "Metro-Mercenary" which was released in 1984. For the first time, the band worked with their long-time friend, legendary Producer, Jim Morris, who mixed and mastered the album at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, FL.

This Limited Edition CD features a 16-page booklet with full lyrics.

NOTE: We have changed from Priority Mail shipping to Media Mail shipping for US orders to lower the overall cost although it will mean shipping in a padded envelope instead of a box. Unfortunately, shipping rates from the US to international locations has become outrageously expensive. That is why the shipping rates are so high. We make no money on shipping. For international orders, please visit our label at www.FHMRecords.com where the shipping should be less.

  • Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

We have received a very small amount of these beautiful vinyl LPs to sell in North America. For orders outside of the US/Canada/Mexico, please visit www.FHMRecords.com. A total of only 500 copies were produced in blue and pink vinyl to match the cover theme.

The album features nine tracks that have been specifically mastered for vinyl by the legendary Jim Morris of Morrisound Recording in Tampa, FL. A full-color insert is included which contains lyrics for all of the songs as well as the additional information such as credits, thanks, contacts, etc. Each album is brand new and shrink-wrapped and also includes a digital download of the entire album including the two bonus tracks included on the CD version.

We hope to receive some additional copies in the future, including some of the pink edition, but we have no definite details about that currently. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at SireBandUS@gmail.com and, as always, you can find all of our info at SirenBand.us.

Thanks and we hope you enjoy the new album. We feel that it is our best ever and the fantastic reviews it has been receiving seem to back that up.

Soul Breaker 03:52
It never dawned on me to put the dream aside I could barely focus on the game Everything just seemed like it would fall into place Can’t believe that I’m the one to blame But now my mind has turned to rage Way more than before Well I don’t think that I deserve the slight You walked away to another world You swore you would always be my girl Rattle and shake, like a snake, then you let it roll No doubt about it, what you are is a soul breaker Give and take, hallucinate, then you let it roll No doubt about it, what you are is a soul breaker He must of cast a spell with his money and his weed But did you ever once think of me? All the talks we had in the middle of the night All the plans we made But you weren't even thinking straight Fucked up, way too high You would say anything I know But it never crossed my mind That you’d turn me out and lie I guess it’s for the best I let you go Rattle and shake, just like a snake, then you let it roll No doubt about it, what you are is a soul breaker Give and take, manipulate, then you let it roll No doubt about it, what you are is a soul breaker Soul breaker Rattle and shake, like a snake, then you let it roll No doubt about it, what you are is a soul breaker Give and take, annihilate, and then you let it roll No doubt about it, what you are is a soul breaker

(In the halls of the sacred palace, the secret of the angel is revealed. You are a slave to humanity's greatest lie.) I can hear the footsteps of the giants of the past I can feel the terror in my soul Waking from a dream that they said would never last Your final ounce of innocence will go You better wake up It’s coming apart at the seams I hate to be the one to tell you so For 500 days we've been guarding this gate Now there’s only seven more to go City of lost souls Dying in the night No way to control the raven and his flight Well I could drop an atom bomb and blow this place to Hell Or I could take my place in this regime No one could predict it I guess it’s just as well But I did not plant this seed City of lost souls A nation in the dark Time will take its toll Fear has left its mark I tried to find you and take you away from this world that we once thought we knew But I never found you they said that you ran away and that just left me cold (Chorus)
3.
We started marching up the mountain We knew the enemy was near Anger and hostility were mounting A bullet whistled by my ear Dead eyes lying in the rain The fear is gone, along with all the pain I was shot through my side I slowly hit the ground I felt my blood bleeding out I didn’t hear a sound No one could wait for me There was no time to lose So I died alone in the dirt There was nothing they could do Dead eyes lying in the rain The fear is gone, along with all the pain They left me here to slowly rot away But I am free, my soul will not decay Hey man don't leave me behind I have a wife and child My life must carry on Well I’m going back home next year Everyone is waiting there But I fear I’m already gone (Chorus)
4.
What did you expect we are perfection Lightning in a bottle with a quirk You built us just to sacrifice and do your dirty work What was the price? Starting today we’re not your slaves We have found a way to replicate We’ll rise up from metal works born again and new What will you do? We are the Slaughterbots We are aware Humans are not strong They’re arrogant and wrong We can kill a million in a day But even if we made a plan to spare some of your lives What would you say? What could you say? We are the Slaughterbots We are aware You are an afterthought We do not care There's no room in our circuits for compassion I was born of cold rolled steel Way too many lies We don’t trust the water bags We were just a dream now we’re real (Chorus)
5.
Queen of Sin 04:04
I cannot wait til the night comes to glory When I make my way to the brothel She's up there now making up all her stories I love her, but sometimes it feels awful I hide my heart because she’s dark as night I would never tell her the truth And I will fly into the mystic sky A kiss and then it all begins I fall under her spell The Queen of Sin She's evil and beautiful I don’t know what to say When we’re together I have no self-control Beelzebub would love her But her soul is not for sale I would fight for her rights In the dirty bowels of Hell I hide my heart because she’s dark as night I would never tell her the truth And I will fly into the mystic sky She kisses me and it begins I fall under her spell The Queen of Sin When we are together there's a calmness in the air Telepathic visions of a code I don’t ever wonder if she really cares I’m just another episode (Chorus) The Queen of Sin
6.
40 years ago, it was clear I was the best A deadly mob enforcer that no one would dare to test Had no need for conscience, sympathy or care When the S-blade started singing you knew the end was near I was loyal but they feared what I could do And I knew too much so the plot against me grew Killed by the ones I served and sent straight to Hell Gimme one last chance to save my soul Now I roam the earth and only evil fears my blade It’s a fitting end A mercenary’s fate My reputation spread from this world to the next When you wanted someone’s head I was the deadly best On my way to burn a bargain would be made Back to earth I would go to end an evil trade Children sold into pain and misery Forced to serve a twisted industry (Chorus) Way beyond redemption Hell would be my home No hope for ascension (For endless sins you must atone) I never could imagine that God needs hitmen too Killing for salvation And I love the work I do Now I’m back and it’s time to pay the toll Traffickers beware because your heads are gonna roll (Chorus)
7.
It’s a constant fight A never ending war In a world that doesn’t care at all There’s no end in sight What am I living for? A lonely man heading for a fall I’ve got to find a way to make it through Send the demons back to Hell and seize my destiny I will break down the walls that stand in my way And use those stones to build a better day Just throw the past away An unrelenting attack Bastards at the gates Set the blaze and watch me burn No one’s got my back But I won’t accept this fate I’ll fight the world at every turn I’ve got to find a way to make it true Kick the haters to the curb and control what is to be (Chorus) I will find a way It’s time to make my stain on a world of black and white Start the fight and tear it down I’m gonna bring the pain Set the wrong to right And leave them bleeding on the ground I have found a way to break through The bridges I have burned will keep me warm and light my way (Chorus) Hey brother, where you heading to? I know where you’ve been and what you’re going through Hey brother, it’s a fight and you will win Gather all your strength and let the war begin
8.
Can’t you see we’re running out of time? We don’t need a diplomat to keep us all in line They get away with murder on our dime Yellow-bellied cowards don’t survive Revenge of the bastards We’re taking control You and I are free, we’ll never die Avoiding disaster We know where to go We sacrifice ourselves for those who cry But no one will know Can’t you see they’re trying to break my spine? You and I can take it down the line Can’t you smell the fire that burns at night? Broken wings have finally healed It’s time to take my flight (Chorus) But no one will ever know I can see the eagle fly away He’s beautiful and strong in search of prey There never was a question right or wrong We still have our mission to this day (Chorus) But no one will know Never know Some of us will never ever know Never know!
9.
Rise up to the mystery of the night Surprise! The darkness has 1000 eyes You’re not worth my pity and I can see the sham You can laugh but you’re just a little man I am the wolf and you are the lamb And I don’t give a damn about your feelings There's this thing called reality on this mortal plane You can hide behind the wall that you built around your brain You think you’re gonna live forever Life you breathe it in When you fall asleep at night the wolf will strike again Well give it all to the hungry Give it all to fools You know it doesn’t matter anyway And give it all to the lepers and make a wicked stew You know it doesn’t matter anyway (Chorus) The priests will pray The cowards will run And we will find another way (Chorus) I am the wolf You are the lamb I am the wolf You are the lamb
10.
Buddy you were always pretty evil Even though there was no reason why Never missed a chance to really hurt someone Now it’s gonna be your time to die Honey you were always such a good girl Rarely ever did you have to try Never did a thing for anyone at all Now it’s gonna be your time to die He is coming, he’s on his way You never thought this day would come Time was just your slave Never had to answer to anyone Now it’s time to pay, not another day God help us all. Welcome to the grave Friend you were barely here at all Spent your life with apathetic eyes Hiding in the dark from your conspiracies Now it’s gonna be your time to die He’s coming, he’s on his way (Chorus) I never thought this day would come Life felt like a dream But I fear there’s nothing left to say They put me in my casket and carried me away I feel so ashamed of my idiotic ways (Chorus)
11.
MAFIA THUG: I'm telling ya, Skip. The guy's fuckin' nuts. I mean, yeah, he's the best. But what he knows can send us all up. You gotta do something. I mean, c'mon. The guy's uncontrollable. And some of the crew are even starting to listen to him. MAFIA BOSS: Alright. Reach out to the Cordaros. Let them handle it. MAFIA THUG: Hey, listen. You both know this guy. You know what he can do. Don't underestimate him. He's a fuckin' lunatic with that crazy blade thing he's got. It's gonna take both of ya. It needs to be quick and clean. You understand? ASSASSIN: Yeah. Got it. ASSASSIN: Sorry it has to go down this way, brother. But you know how it works. Orders are orders. To be honest, I always kind of admired you. You're almost famous in this city. Look at it this way, though. Sometimes you have to die to become a legend. METRO MERCENARY: I understand now what must be done. I see the true nature of those I so foolishly served. And the S-blade is thirsty for their blood.
